Commercial Law

Prerequisite: Contracts

This course is a survey of commercial law. It will explore the three prototypical commercial transactions: (1) purchase and sale of goods; (2) payment; and (3) secured financing. The course will focus on Articles 2, 3, 4, and 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code. Relevant federal statues and regulations, and international conventions will be covered as well. Students may elect to take either this course or one or more of the more detailed separate courses in Commercial Transactions: Sales, Commercial Paper and Banking, and Secured Transactions.
